Some people feel that wooden furniture is not ecofriendly as trees have  to be cut down to get the wood for the furniture. Compared to other materials, Wooden furniture is durable and lasts longer and is more versatile then any other product that people have attempted to make furniture out of.  Some wood used in furniture is easily renewable and the trees for this wood grows very fast.

The amount of non recycled wood in most wooden furniture is fairly  small. Also, most wooden furniture is made of scrap wood which has been pressed together like plywood and laminated. Some products like toilet paper, stationary, and wood for construction can only be made from wood and the trees have to be cut down to obtain the wood required. By using the waste wood for furniture, all the wood is utilised fully.

Other materials used for making furniture like PVC and other plastics cause far more environmental  pollution during the production process. They often do not last for long and disposing can damage the environment.
